Reviews
We visited Eddis & Sons on a late afternoon during a less busy time of day. You're greeted with a simple menu with the staples and decided to go for a classic Philly cheesesteak +mushrooms/peppers for $1.50 more plus some truffle fries and a Philadelphia local, Hank's glass bottled root beer. Each sandwich is made to order. There were four orders ahead of us and two workers in the kitchen. It took about 20-25mins to get our food which we were okay with as we had no rush, but definitely doesn't represent as easy grab and go spot --not that they're claiming that by any means. There are a couple benches to wait for your order and a standing bar on the front window, but no indoor seating. The weather was nice enough to hang out on the front patio tables. Philly Cheesesteak was up there with the best I've had. I haven't made a trip to Philly, but as the numerous customer feedback cards on the wall suggest, this was a delicious authentic cheesesteak! Truffle fries were expertly seasoned with a pretty standard garlic aoli and didn't seem overly greasy/salty as I've had other places. Food portions were generous as one sandwich (fork for scale) and order of fries satisfied my wife and me. All-in-all great little spot to take a load off after shopping St. John's or if you're nearby with some time to burn! We plan to return!
Best cheesesteak in the south east, no one else is even close. We got the white American cheese, but will be going back for the cheese whiz variation VERY soon!
Ex Philly girl here (aka expert), Eddis is THE BEST vegan Philly cheesesteak I have ever had. In Florida, in Philly, heck, I even had a vegan Philly in the middle of Spain. Nothing beats Eddis. Everyone I bring a reg Philly to is blown away, "tastes better than home". Place is ran by actual PA transplants, they're always super nice. They even say "water ice" correctly. I haven't been in for a while and the place looks as clean as the day they opened. Miss those food truck days, tho!
This place has been on my list for a while, and I finally got to try it. I ordered it through delivery, but it was still amazing. I got the classic cheesesteak with American cheese. It was phenomenal. I also ordered a side of truffle fries, and those were delicious as well. I need to go in person next time so I can have it right off the bat rather than wait for it to be delivered from a service. It's one of my favorite cheesesteak spots now!
Bread was fresh, steak was seasoned good. People were very friendly, excellent customer service. Old bay fries were delicious as well
